Jones Robb Members, Susanne Jones, Kevin Robb and Elizabeth Burke, attended the 47th Annual Meeting of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) that took place in Washington DC, September 24 -26, 2019. Our team had the opportunity to network with IP professionals from corporations, law firms, government, academia, and service providers from around the world to discuss strategies, trends, and best practices.
Jones Robb was honored to be one of the sponsors for the Networking Lunch & Fireside Chat: Secrets of Successful Leadership hosted by the Women in IP Committee. This hugely successful kickoff event was attended by about 300 participants. The committee’s Co-Chair Elisabeth Stewart Bradley of Bristol-Myers Squibb asked insightful questions of Sandy Leung, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Bristol-Myers Squibb during the Fireside Chat. Ms. Leung shared inspiring messages and practical advice, including to develop relationships with people who value your success and to have the courage to speak up in meetings so that others can evaluate your ability. The committee and its leaders were praised by IPO President Henry Hadad, also serving as a liaison to the Women in IP Committee, for their continued work in achieving gender equality throughout the industry. Aside from the Networking Lunch and the informative legal education content, another highlight of the event was the Dinner reception at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, where the Jones Robb team had the chance to enjoy great conversation with IP colleagues old and new.
